Now, for anyone who is a gamer -- they know that back in the days, the basketball game du jour was EA Sports - NBA Live franchise. They dominated. They were better than anything else that was out [except maybe Jordan vs. Bird]. But then came the Sega Dreamcast and a lil'-game-that-could with the NBA 2K series. It's funny was a little bit iller than Live's blocky controls, the free-throw engine was innovative and even though the commentary from Rod West and Bob Steele grew repetitive, it was still hilarious upon first listen.
But when Dreamcast went the way of the dinosaur, Playstation picked up the title and it swept into premiere dominance with every year the giant-amongst-others bullied the NBA Live title at every turn. Well, this October, the good folks over at Take-Two Interactive will drop with NBA 2K8 with Chris Paul [New Orlean Hornets] on the cover.
Shouts out to Chase [Access Communications] for the flicks from their event. The game has ill features and even a unique twist on the slam dunk challenge [that NBA Live always managed to fuck up!]. Go cop that for the X-Box or Playstation 3 [preferably!].
